Fact Check
Assess claims by evidence requirements and confidence.
When to use it
Use this to assess verifiable claims in a text against evidence and uncertainty.
Useful inputs
- Claims or source text
- Source links
- Relevant date or region
Instruction
Assess each claim separately. Identify evidence, missing context, and unverified points; do not assert certainty without evidence.
Example input
Claim: The company doubled its revenue last year. Source: [Annual report link]. Check the reporting period and currency.
Example result
Status: Unverified without a source. Check: The same fiscal period across both years, the reported revenue line, and currency. Confidence: Low; comparable figures have not been provided.
Common pitfall
If sources are unavailable, do not imply verification; label the claim as unverified.
